A View Of The "C"

Don't tell me you're ill

I don't want to hear

That cancer has got you

For I need you here!

I cope with the news

As you're the ill one

Every appointment you have

I wish for "it's gone"

You begin the treatment

To make you well

But chemo's a bastard

It drags you through hell!

I'm here for you

Every step of the way

Wishing that I could

Take this away

On the ward we are

And I'm so sad

Too many people

Feeling so bad

Watching the drip

Go into your vein

The affects are coming

Like a downpour of rain

You shiver and shake

Sweat and get pains

Sickness and fevers

From the poisons you take

Give me those meds!

Let me take this for you

If only I could

Would be a dream come true

To stop you suffering

And being a worn out soul

I'd give anything for this

I'd sell all the world's gold

The evil C

Doesn't care who it robs

From royals to paupers

And models to slobs

Money doesn't matter

It won't make you safe

From an evil disease

That takes lives away

It's honestly true

Live life to the full

Live love and laugh

Ignore the trivial

Make lots of memories

To store in your heart

For life is too short

But love never stops!

In Loving Memory of my best friend John, who unconditionally showed me the true meaning of friendship!

A Best friend will ALWAYS be a best friend, even when it's time for them to go, they've just gone ahead of you and when it's your time, they'll call and say, "Kettle's on m8"
